Prepare a KDP coloring book with AI artwork
A six-page printable collection is a useful way to review a theme and its line art. A book also needs enough original pages, a finished interior and a separate cover. If you are preparing a KDP coloring book, choose the print specifications before assembling the artwork.

You will need to assemble and check a book manuscript and cover in another layout tool. We have not submitted these sample files to KDP or tested a physical proof.
Choose trim size and page count first
For a black-ink paperback on white paper, KDP currently lists 8.5 × 11 inches with 24–590 pages and 8.27 × 11.69 inches with 24–780 pages. Limits vary by paper and ink. Pick the exact option in KDP before making your layout.
A free six-page set falls short of the 24-page minimum. Build a complete collection with useful, original pages. Avoid repeating the same artwork or adding excessive blank pages just to reach a count. Ordinary coloring books with varied activity pages are generally not classified as low-content books; check the book you actually plan to publish.

Leave room for the binding and the printer
For a no-bleed interior, set the manuscript page size to the chosen trim size. A 24–150 page book needs at least 0.375 inch of inside gutter and 0.25 inch on the outside edges. Longer books need a wider gutter. Check the current table for your final page count.
Artwork that reaches an edge needs a bleed layout. KDP adds 0.125 inch to the width and 0.25 inch to the height. Our home-print files have white margins and no bleed. Match the book layout deliberately rather than relying on a printer’s Fit setting.

Review the actual lines at print size
Inspect every animal, object and enclosed coloring space. AI can produce awkward limbs, merged details or shapes that are difficult to color. A redraw costs one credit and may still need another review.
KDP asks for images of at least 300 DPI and lines at least 0.75 point thick. Export single pages rather than two-page spreads, embed fonts and images, and flatten layers and transparency. Use its previewer and order a physical proof before deciding the book is ready.

Prepare a separate book file and cover
Our PDFs preserve original SVG source records and metadata as attachments. They are home-print downloads. KDP’s submission instructions exclude metadata, annotations, bookmarks and crop marks, so prepare a separate manuscript to its requirements. Retain the included source records when distributing artwork files, as our terms require.
A paperback also needs its own cover, including the spine and bleed. Use KDP’s cover tools for the selected trim size, paper and final page count. Coloring Parcel does not make covers, calculate a book spine or promise a ready-to-upload publication package.

Check rights and declare AI-generated images
KDP requires you to disclose AI-generated interior and cover images when publishing or republishing. Substantial editing does not change an AI-created image into AI-assisted work. You remain responsible for checking the book against the content guidelines and third-party rights.
Our generated files and public sample sets may be used commercially under the Coloring Parcel terms. Public samples are shared with other visitors. Commercial permission does not guarantee exclusivity, copyright protection, rights clearance, acceptance by KDP or sales. Use original themes and avoid existing characters, brands and real people.
